California Chrome, Nyquist to Battle at 2016 Breeders' Cup
This year's Breeders' Cup will take place November 4-5 at Santa Anita Park, and two well-known horses are expected to duke it out in the main event. California Chrome and Nyquist are both pointed at the $6 million Grade I Breeders' Cup Classic; California Chrome won the 2014 Kentucky Derby and Preakness, while Nyquist is the reigning Kentucky Derby champion. They'll race 1 ¼ miles over Santa Anita's dirt oval on November 5, with a post time of 8:35 PM ET.
NBC will be on hand to provide coverage of all 13 races at the Breeders’ Cup, starting with the $1 million Grade I Juvenile Turf on November 4 at 5 PM ET. Other key races include the $2 million Grade 1 Distaff (November 4, 7:35 PM ET) and the $3 million Grade I Turf (November 5, 7:40 PM ET).
