It's CashCall Futurity Day at Hollywood Park on Saturday, December 9. The $750,000 CashCall Futurity (G1) is a 1 1/16 mile race for 2-year-olds hoping to score valuable points towards the Triple Crown's most prestigious event, the Kentucky Derby. Tamarindo is a recent stakes winner at Hollywood Park, and Candy Boy, a recent maiden winner, will have 2013 Breeders' Cup Classic-winning jockey Gary Stevens in the irons.
Also, Fair Grounds will host Louisiana Champions Day on December 9, featuring Louisiana-breds. The event is comprised of 11 stakes offering over $1M in purse money. With last year's winner Heavy On Themister sidelined by injury, the $150,000 Louisiana Champions Day Classic Stakes will crown a new winner.
