This Week's Top Races
This Sunday, we're headed to the New York Stallion Stakes Series at New York City's Aqueduct Racetrack for the $150,000 Fifth Avenue Division and the $150,000 Great White Way Division.
First up on Sunday is the New York Stallion Stakes Series' Fifth Avenue Division. The race will be contested by 2-year-old fillies willing to race 6 furlongs down the dirt track for their share of the $150,000 purse. In last year's race, Linda Rice secured her third straight victory when Miss Narcissist beat out Hey Kiddo by a head, covering the 6 furlongs in 1:11.60. The field is almost set for Sunday's race so stay tuned to find out what's in store this year.
The New York Stallion Stakes' Great White Way Division will also take place on Sunday. The $150,000 event is open to 2-year-old colts and geldings willing to race 6 furlongs on dirt. In last year's race, Tom Albertrani's thoroughbred Empire Dreams landed an exciting 1 ¾ length victory, beating out three tough contenders in the homestretch. As for what can be expected in this year's race, we'll just have to wait until this Sunday to find out.
